Project partners

The project aims to combine the knowledge of construction and design firms with their good insight into construction market and architectural needs with European universities and timber construction element and machinery producers to form a homogenized project team, experienced in all fields of design, analysis and production.

UL FGG

UL FGG

University of Ljubljana, Faculty for Civil and Geodetic Engineering has a long tradition of material testing and dynamic design. It shall coordinate the project and contribute its most highly specialized skills, from FE modelling to experimental facilities. Professor Boštjan Brank is one of the top world experts in the field of finite element modelling. He is also very active in the field of modelling innovative timber structures, supervising a number of bachelor theses purely on that subje

CBD

CBD

CBD d.o.o. Contemporary Building Design is an R&D performing SME, specialized in the seismic analysis of timber structures. They were formed as a spinoff company of the University of Ljubljana and master a wide range of static and dynamic, linear and nonlinear analyses as well as laboratory testing knowledge. In addition to designing and constructing pioneering timber projects they are also partners in several European research projects. They will provide significant expertise on developmen

MPA

MPA

MPA University of Stuttgart is the main timber-testing and certification facility in Germany. They have a long tradition in the field of research and certification and support numerous companies in developing new timber components. They are also in charge of a well-equipped laboratory, also capable of climate chamber testing. They will lead WP3, providing their experimental support and equipment, as well as WP6 where they possess all the knowledge of certifying timber products.

ITI

ITI

Department of Structural Design and Timber Engineering (ITI), Vienna University of Technology (VUT) are an Austrian university with a high reputation for timber design. Mostly they are specialized in architectural and building physics aspects, however they also master classical timber construction and technology. ITI will lead WP4, providing building physics models, LCA analyses and architectural details necessary for a successful implementation of the products.

Ledinek

Ledinek

No matter whether simple planing machines, parquet machines, saws or complex finger-jointing plants, Ledinek products are all based on longstanding tradition. Since 1908 the enterprise has been constantly growing and has been successful in meeting the more and more demanding needs of the market at home and abroad. Therefor Ledinek is in charge of WP5, developing a new production line of the ribbed cross laminated timber plates.

STORAENSO

STORAENSO

Stora Enso is the biggest cross laminated timber producer in the world. They are one of the pioneers in the field, supporting research in timber building components and construction. As a producer they have immense knowledge of the current production processes and will mostly contribute in the field of production line consultancy, cost analyses and certification.

Černivšek

Černivšek

Jože Černivšek s.p. is the second largest glulam producer from Slovenia. The family owned company is providing a large part of the Slovenian carpenters with cut and glued timber as well as constantly investing in their development.
